At the end of the 20th century, Egyptian mouth blown & handmade Pyrex glass products continued to be practiced becoming far superior in strength and clarity. Only in Egypt, known forever throughout the world for its craftsmen, could stunning a process fashion the glass of the finest quality. These unique glass products are handmade in Egypt, by Egyptian artisans and craftsmen using the same glass blowing method known since the ancient times. They come in a variety of beautiful shapes and colors and each piece is different and unique since they are all handmade. Blown glass is a very ancient technique and it is believed that it was invented by the Ancient Egyptians. These unique mouth blown artifacts used to be found in the royal tombs inside the pyramids and the legend says that they were crafted in order to collect the tears of those mourning the death of the Pharaohs. They are still being made in exactly the same way as in the old times. The type of handmade glass we see today in Egypt are, however, a more modern art. The techniques are now handed down from generation to generation, usually from father to son.

Primary, Pyrex glass pipes & rods are heated, using a number of small tools, the glass is constantly rotated as the artist blows air through it quickly and precisely to form an exact shape. Afterwards, another craftsman, with very different handicraft skills, takes over the bottle in order to engrave the shaped glass with designs. Extra care is required in cutting into the strong but delicate glass. Another craftsman apply coloring to the product. Some very beautiful effects may be applied, while solid colored bottles will be turned on a rotating wheel to distribute the colors smoothly and evenly without leaving marks or uneven streaks of color. Afterwards gold will next be applied. This is 10% concentrate liquid gold. After the coloring and hand painting process is completed, the bottles are put into a furnace with a temperature near 480 and 520C to set the color and gold on the glass so that it is permanent. These beautiful bottles come in a variety of shapes, colors, and sizes, from the very small to extra-large.
